Bearded Dragon

Bearded Dragons are friendly, hardy reptiles popular among beginner and experienced keepers. They have a calm nature, unique “beard” display, and come in a variety of colours and morphs.

Genetics:

Standard species (Pogona vitticeps) with multiple morph variations like Hypo, Leatherback, and Zero. Selective breeding produces different colours and patterns.

Special Requirements:

  • Large enclosure with correct UVB and basking temps
  • Secure environment to prevent escapes
  • No loose substrate for babies to avoid impaction

Care Information:

  • UVB: T5 high-output tube (10–12%), basking within 30–40cm
  • Temp: Basking 38–42°C (adults), 40–45°C (babies), cool side 26–28°C
  • Diet: Mix of leafy greens, vegetables, and protein (insects)
  • Supplements: Calcium and vitamins in correct frequency
