Zero Morph
Description:
Zero bearded dragons are famous for their completely patternless, ghost-like appearance. Unlike other morphs, they have no traditional stripes, bars, or side patterns, often showing silvery-white to pale lavender tones. This clean look makes them highly prized among breeders and collectors.
Genetics:
Zero is a simple recessive gene morph, meaning both parents must carry and pass on the gene for offspring to display the patternless trait.
- Visual Zero = inherits gene from both parents
- Het Zero = carrier without visible traits
- Breeding two het zeros yields 25% visual zeros
Special Requirements:
- Like other bearded dragons, they need proper UVB lighting and basking temperature.
- Monitor skin during shedding as the pale colour can make issues more visible.
- Avoid repeated breeding of visual zeros to maintain genetic health.
Care Information:
- Provide high-output T5 UVB lighting (10–12%) covering most of the enclosure.
- Maintain basking temperatures of 38–42°C for adults and 40–45°C for babies.
- Diet should include leafy greens, vegetables, and live insects dusted with calcium and vitamins.
- Supplement calcium 4–5 times per week for juveniles, less frequently for adults.
